Samsung Electronics, the second mobile phones manufacturer worldwide, has announced that will launch in the upcoming period four new smartphones from the Galaxy series, all of them running on the powerful operating system Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The company did not provide more accurate data about when the phones will sell, but they will be commercially available by the end of 2011.

It is not a joke from any blogger, but an official announcement of the Google boss, Larry Page. The "excuse" is that this acquisition will increase competitiveness in the telephony and operating systems market, and a great acquisition after the huge involvement Motorola has had with the Android project.
